As discussed in the tag board, there is going to be a class outing/dinner if there are enough people.

It would most probably be a buffet steamboat/BBQ. The price is around 15 dollars.
There is a cheaper one at Turf City, provided that you guys don't mind travelling.

It has been changed to a CHRISTMAS CLASS STEAMBOAT PARTY
Date: 20th December

All participants will bring along a gift for exchange that is btwn $8 - $10 range.

Cannot buy list for Gift exchange:
1) Vouchers
2) Photo frame
3) Mugs
4) food stuff
5) super fragile stuff

The location would be confirmed soon.

Presents exchange:
The presents exchange would be split into two parts. One for the girls and one for the guys.

In both parts, all the presents would be numbered and we would draw lots to see who gets which present. If you unluckily/luckily got back your own present, you have to draw again.

So, please buy presents for your own sex cause it would be much easier.

PLACE: aloha loyang garden terrace I

TIME: 3.30PM at pasir ris bus interchange [the newspaper stand dere]
btw. this is the time i set to fetch those who duno how to go. likewise, if you cnt make it this time or want to go wif ur 'family' or 'clique' then you can do so. but arrive after 3.30pm.

AMNT: $10. [cos i think sme ppl complained abt the price, so i make it $10, those who paid $12, i will pay you back. zhengfeng pls pay $5]

THINGS TO BRING:
-pls bring necessities to last ur stay if you are staying.
-bring sme board games or dvds
-bring some food/drinks to share with the class. esp drinks cos im afraid itis not enugh.
[mr ang allow d coloured drink wif low alcoholic content. bacardi breezer. i guess. ]
-bring sme tibits too! and the ice-cream.
-bring sme dessert.
-MONEY! for all the meals expt the bbq on 2nd night.

AND, there will be a FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN there so if u're interested to prepare anything, please bring n cook for the class. (: haha.

Biology SPA: Enzymes
Experimental errors:
1. Not enough bubbling to from froth
- Inaccuracy in determining enzyme activity, result is lesser than expected
- Increase amount of specimen used such that there will be more enzymes working on the substrate
2. Heat loss to surroundings
- Enzymatic activity lower than expected, result is lesser than expected
- Use insulator container to minimize heat loss
3. Enzymes present in each specimen may vary
- Concentration may vary, results will be different from expected
4. Potato cubes floats up
- Cubes stuck at froth layer, blocks the formation of froth and destroys froth that was formed before, inaccuracy in reading, causing result to be higher than actual
5. Surfaces of potato stuck together
- Surface area for enzymatic reaction decreases, amount of froth produced is lesser than actual
Conclusions:
1. Rate of enzymatic reaction is the highest at its optimum temperature and it decreases as the temperature increases beyond its optimum temperature (temperature)
2. The higher the enzyme concentration, the faster the rate of the decomposition of the substrate(enzyme concentration)
3. The higher the temperature, the faster the rate of the decomposition of the substrate

Food tests:

Important food tests

Proteins	Biuret test	1. add 2cm3 of egg white solution into test tube 2. add Biuret solution drop wise, shake after each drop	- lilac => proteins present
Starch	Starch test	1. add starch solution into test tube 2. add iodine solution into test tube	- blue-black=> starch present - brown=> starch absent
